Why a forklift simulator instead of another hour on the real truck
Most damage happens in a new operator’s first weeks: clipped racking, dropped pallets, reversing without looking. Traditional forklift training takes a truck, an aisle and an experienced operator out of production for every hour of practice, and the only record is the instructor’s memory.
A forklift training simulator moves those first hours into a headset. The trainee starts the truck, fastens the belt, checks the surroundings, drives, lifts and stacks with the same hand and foot movements as on the real machine. Collisions cost nothing and are logged. The warehouse keeps working and the instructor reviews a report instead of standing beside every run. With one lifetime station rotated across 100 employees, the cost per trained person falls to about €15.
The simulator does not issue a licence; certification stays with your national authority or accredited body. Forklift VR prepares people for the practical part so time on the real truck is spent confirming skills, not finding the levers.
What’s inside the VR forklift simulator
Four scenarios in three warehouse environments; modules take 5–15 minutes, any order, unlimited repetitions.
1. Basic operation
Start-up, steering, mast levers, accelerator and brake mapped 1:1. Driving through the warehouse and manoeuvring in confined space.
2. Load transport and manoeuvring
Lifting and carrying pallets in narrow aisles, load stability rules, travel with a raised or view-restricting load. Difficulty increases scenario by scenario.
3. Loading and unloading
Loading goods onto a vehicle, placing pallets in marked warehouse zones, stacking at height.
4. Exam mode
Modelled on national operator-certification checklists: pre-use inspection, seat belt and parking brake, aisle manoeuvres, stacking at height, observation when reversing, driving with restricted view. Error report after every attempt.
Three environments
Compact hall (4 aisles) for first manoeuvres; logistics centre (12 aisles, high-bay racking) for real-scale tasks; outdoor yard with ramps and vehicles for advanced trainees.
Controls and reporting
Standard: Meta Quest Touch Plus controllers. Option: a physical rig with wheel, pedals and gear lever on a Windows PC (€5,000–7,500). Every scenario ends with an error list the instructor can keep.

Rollout: remote, in English, no site visit
- Demo call (30 min). We show the simulator online, confirm your training goals and send a quote for your number of stations.
- Order and licence. Activation codes arrive by e-mail; on your own Meta Quest headsets the licence is live within 24 hours. Otherwise we ship pre-configured Quest 3S headsets.
- Onboarding call in English. 45 minutes with your instructor: headset handling, scenario selection, reading reports, safety checklist.
- Pilot group. 5–10 trainees run the modules over one or two weeks; we review the reports with you.
- Scale. Add stations, roll out to other sites, or order a custom version of your own warehouse.
International customers: headsets are shipped pre-configured with the app installed, the licence is activated online, and helpdesk runs by e-mail and video call in English. Nothing is installed on your network.

When NOT to use a forklift simulator
- As a replacement for the certification test or the final hours on the real truck. VR builds habits and repetitions; the authority still tests on a real machine.
- For specialist trucks the app does not model. Forklift VR covers counterbalance trucks. Reach trucks, order pickers or telehandlers need a custom build.
- When you need your exact site in the app but have no budget for customisation. The standard version has three fixed environments; a copy of your warehouse is a separate, paid project.
Forklift simulator FAQ
Does the forklift simulator give a licence or certificate?
No. Certification is issued by your national authority or an accredited body after a test on a real truck. The exam mode follows the same checklists (pre-use inspection, aisle manoeuvres, stacking at height, driving with restricted view) so trainees arrive prepared.
What hardware do I need?
Meta Quest 3 or 3S, standalone: no PC, no cables, no IT integration, about 2×2 m of floor per station. An optional physical rig (wheel, pedals, gear lever) runs on a Windows PC and costs €5,000–7,500.
Can an instructor watch what the trainee sees?
Yes. The headset casts the trainee’s view to a screen or tablet on the same Wi-Fi, and each scenario ends with an error report. There is no networked multiplayer mode in the standard version.
How many people can train on one licence?
Unlimited. The licence is tied to the headset, not the person, so one station trains staff in rotation. Each additional headset needs its own licence.
Is the interface in English?
Yes, the UI is available in English and Polish. Other languages are added on request as part of a quote.
Can I export reports for HR or an LMS?
Reports are generated after every scenario and can be saved and shared; CSV export and LMS integration are scoped for fleet deployments.
Are updates included?
Yes. Compatibility updates follow headset software changes, plus a content update at least every 24 months. 12 months of helpdesk and updates are included; 24 months costs €375 per headset.
