VR Drilling Rig Simulator
The VR Drilling Rig Simulator is an advanced training tool that combines virtual reality (VR) technology with a physical operator workstation. By integrating an interactive VR environment with a realistic control panel, the simulator enables comprehensive training for rig operators and their teams in a controlled, safe environment.
Operating Modes in the Simulator
Three Operating Modes:
- Operator Mode:
Users work at a physical operator workstation, which includes a control chair, control panels, and three monitors. - Collaborators Mode (VR):
Collaborators work directly in VR headsets, performing tasks on the drilling platform, such as connecting pipes or operating tools. The operator has full visibility of their actions through cameras and monitors. - Instructor Mode:
The instructor manages the simulation, creates scenarios, and can introduce technical failures. This mode also allows real-time observation of both the operator’s and collaborators’ activities. The instructor has access to:- Free Camera: Enables unrestricted movement within the virtual environment.
- Live View: Allows analysis of participants’ actions and adjustments during the simulation.
- Lithological Profile Editing: Facilitates customization of geological and technical drilling conditions to meet specific needs.
