AR Applications

Augmented reality is a rapidly evolving technology that has become a cornerstone in various industries. AR (augmented reality) dominates not only entertainment but also healthcare, manufacturing, training, and e-commerce.

What is AR (Augmented Reality)?

A Tool to Simplify Work

Viewing the world through augmented reality glasses not only provides real-time information but also unlocks numerous possibilities. Advanced AR glasses, such as Microsoft HoloLens, function as powerful computers enabling tasks previously unimaginable. Imagine a surgeon using AR glasses during an operation, viewing a detailed model of the organ being operated on without diverting attention from the patient.
Similarly, a technician working on a production line can monitor machine performance and follow repair instructions displayed directly in their AR glasses. These examples illustrate how augmented reality is already simplifying and enhancing human capabilities.

How Do AR Applications Work?

To enter the world of augmented reality, there are three main options:

AR glasses overlay additional elements onto the real-world view, effectively augmenting reality. Advanced AR glasses, like Magic Leap or Microsoft HoloLens 2, enable precise interaction with virtual elements using hand gestures. These glasses track hand and finger movements accurately, offering a highly intuitive and user-friendly experience. Learning basic gestures takes mere seconds, making AR accessible even for beginners.
AR glasses provide a seamless experience by keeping users connected to the real world while allowing them to control the boundaries of AR. With transparent glasses, users can easily toggle between augmented and real views, maintaining full flexibility.
AR applications for smartphones and tablets are widespread and accessible. They serve both functional and entertainment purposes, with a low barrier to entry since most mobile devices support AR. Despite limitations in processing power, mobile devices continue to improve, driving advancements in AR technology and enabling increasingly sophisticated applications.
However, unlike AR glasses, smartphones and tablets require users to hold the device, which can limit the hands-free benefits that AR glasses provide.

Mixed reality (MR) is often misunderstood as augmented reality, but true MR glasses do not yet exist. MR ideally combines augmented and virtual realities, allowing users to seamlessly switch between immersive virtual environments and real-world overlays. For now, MR remains an aspiration, but its potential is vast.

    How is Augmented Reality Used?

    AR in Marketing

The quality of the image in virtual reality is crucial for the experience of 360-degree videos. We know how to optimize resolution and achieve the best possible image quality on VR headsets from various manufacturers.
We create spherical videos and VR films for devices such as Oculus Go, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive, Vive Pro, Valve Index, PlayStation VR, Samsung Gear VR, and all smartphones with Android and iOS operating systems, as well as platforms like Cardboard, Google Daydream, Lenovo Mixed Reality, Windows Mixed Reality headsets, Pico, Pimax 5K, Pimax 8K, Vive Focus, and others.

    AR in Training

One of the most popular ways to utilize augmented reality technology is through training solutions. When creating such systems, it’s important to ensure that the technology enhances rather than distracts from the core content. Augmented reality is a medium that facilitates better knowledge retention.
While AR is among the most effective tools available today, it cannot replace solid, well-presented foundational knowledge. That’s why, when developing AR-based training programs, we collaborate with specialists from various fields. These experts provide substantive support, even for the most complex topics.
For example, we are working on a project in collaboration with Jagiellonian University in Krakow. This initiative significantly enhances the educational process for future cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.

AR offers new opportunities to simplify work processes and save employees’ time. Equipping teams with AR goggles can boost efficiency, minimize errors, and standardize procedures. The possibilities are limitless.
AR provides doctors with all the necessary information in real-time, in a non-invasive way. Specialized AR tools for students enhance the effectiveness of educating future doctors.
The phenomenon of the Pokémon Go app demonstrated to the world the immense potential of mobile AR solutions. And this is just the beginning…

How to Effectively Sell Using VR/AR in Marketing?

Augmented and Virtual Reality Enhance Knowledge Retention!

In June 2018, a study conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland demonstrated that knowledge acquired through immersive technologies (AR/VR) is retained significantly more effectively than the same knowledge presented in any other way.
“Research proves that immersive technologies VR+AR can significantly enhance outcomes in education and training,” says Amitabh Varshney, professor of computer science and dean of the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences at UMD.

The use of AR/VR in the learning process improves information retention efficiency by an average of

Advantages of Augmented Reality Over Virtual Reality

In the case of virtual reality, our entire field of vision is filled with a virtual image, giving us the sensation of physically being transported to another world. In contrast, augmented reality provides additional information displayed over the real-world image. Augmented reality does not isolate us from the real-world view, making it an effective medium for supporting human work across various fields.
Key Advantages of AR Over VR:

    – Augmented reality does not block out the real-world view.

    – Using augmented reality can occur while performing various everyday tasks without the need to pause or interrupt them.

    – Augmented reality significantly simplifies our lives in real-time by displaying information directly in front of our eyes, allowing us to keep our hands free and perform tasks seamlessly.

How Does Real Reality Fall Short of Augmented Reality?

A few years ago, the world was captivated by the Google Glass project—glasses designed to eliminate the need for a smartphone. They promised features like recognizing places and people, searching for services, making phone calls, and more. Ultimately, the project failed, and Google withdrew it. But why?
Aside from the device’s limited performance, mental barriers might have played a significant role. Who would want to be constantly observed and potentially eavesdropped on 24/7 through glasses worn by family, friends, or colleagues? In promotional videos, Google showcased how the glasses would recognize people on the street and display key information about them.
Despite these concerns, augmented reality still surpasses traditional reality by offering a non-intrusive way of displaying information. These details do not interfere with our activities. For example, when we receive an SMS, we usually pull out our smartphone from a pocket or bag. With augmented reality glasses worn continuously, we can read the message immediately without interrupting what we are doing.

Augmented Reality Is More Than Just AR Glasses

The vast majority of current users of augmented reality (AR) applications access it through their smartphones. Today, it is already possible to, for example, check whether and how a purchased item will fit into our interior even before placing an order. An increasing number of stores offer AR solutions that display available products as 3D models. You can also try on clothes, shoes, or test how a new suit will look on you. The possibilities of this technology in marketing and sales are virtually limitless.
