Virtual reality and online meetings are concepts that are very interrelated. Ever since the Internet took over our lives on a massive scale, humanity has been enjoying the benefits of virtual meetings in the online world for hours every day. The time of the pandemic has proven that remote communication can be just as effective as a face-to-face meeting. However, sometimes there are business issues that are worth dealing with in person.
Virtual reality and full concentration in deep work
I’m on a train right now, coming back from this case. I always choose the train when I can, because I respect my time at work. Driving on the train forces me to be extremely high-performing. That’s me and the laptop. The rest of the environment doesn’t interest me. I’m totally focused on my work. My main focus is to perform all tasks as efficiently as possible. It’s easier to get distracted in the office or at home. Here, when the range is lost every ten kilometers,I move to my world of concentration.
Similarly, I experience the same process while wearing VR glasses. My two most important cognitive senses-sight and hearing-are completely cut off from the stimuli of the outside world if I don’t remove my glasses or drain their battery. In the virtual reality world, I’m also completely focused on the virtual world. I absorb the information coming to me from the VR software. Virtual reality gives me the opportunity to learn in practice, using my muscle memory. I can perform almost all tasks as they are performed in the real world. The same applies to production workers, flight attendants, or, for example, production workers. doctors are trained using virtual reality.
Howdoes virtual reality work now?
At the time I write this article, it is impossible to effectively perform office and computer work with VR glasses. Fact. Typing on the keyboard with VR glasses is currently inconvenient. You can’t control a computer in VR any better than you can in the real world. However, virtual reality technology is developing at an incredible rate. Primitive solutions a few years ago are now being replaced by powerful VR glasses that are completely autonomous(i.e. no computer required for operation), lightweight and extremely powerful. We can conduct effective online meetings using VR technology in the same way as we do in reality. The only difference is that we see each other as virtual avatars from the comfort of our homes.
Metaverse,work efficiently and savetime
And this is where I see the greatest potential for the world of the Metaverse. Virtual reality will save us a lot of time. Meeting with friends, colleagues, or contractors – we can solve all this from the comfort of your home. Without wasting time on trips and without thinking about when and how we will return to the tasks this week, given the fact that 2 field meetings are 2 days taken from our week. I will personally tell you that I made a mistake on my own journey today. On my way back from a meeting with a client in Legnica, I boarded the train that was supposed to take me to Krakow. However, after a while on the train, something stopped matching up. The names of the stops were good, but they went in a different direction. It turned out that I got on a good train, but in the wrong direction. Instead of going to Berlin, I went to Berlin. This was confirmed to me by a Gentleman who said that the train we are traveling on had a delay, and usually these 2 opposite directions pass in Lubin. Today it became known that at 14:18 these trains passed in Legnica. My train also left at 14: 18 towards Krakow. However, it differed by 1 digit of the number. I was supposed to take the Wawel IC57 train, and I took the Wawel IC56.
No tragedy occurred… I have more time to work, and I’m already on the right track, in the right direction, but in the Metaverse, this situation couldn’t happen. And even if I made a mistake in the trains-I could reset my position and return to the right place in a second.
How do we usethe Metaverse in ourprofessional life?
I’m not saying that virtual reality and the world of the Metaverse will completely replace our activities in the real world. However, if only by the example of my failure today,I know that much will be made easier. Every day, we are bombarded from all sides with a lot of urgent, important or urgent and important things to do. Our attention is divided. We are out of the rhythm of our current classes. We have a hard time finding time for deep work. We act reactively, not proactively. It doesn’t serve us, our efficiency, or the world.
Bringing professional aspects to the world of the Metaverse will certainly make our work more efficient. Personally, I believe that we will have more extra time to work smart rather than hard. We can spend the saved time on further professional development or have a good time with our loved ones. Techologie problems that are out of the hands of a person, by their very nature, arise in order to save their time and effort… of course, a person is a creature who does not like to be bored. The time and effort saved is invested in subsequent efforts that require effort. That’s why we’re here. You are reading this on your phone or computer monitor. We don’t sit together in a cave. What has brought us to this point is progress and efforts that would not have been possible if not for the automation of our reality.
Can virtual reality and Metaverse solutions automate our real world?
Have you ever dreamed of having a twin brother who will go to school for you and later do all the work for you? You will enjoy the benefits of this world, and the twin brother will work for your happiness. Sounds utopian and unrealistic, right? However, mankind has created twins almost always… in a slightly different sense, but what do you call a computer? Doesn’t it do hundreds of complex calculations for you in a second? Doesn’t the machine replace the movement of your feet, and do it very efficiently? The world of the Metaverse is a new opportunity. We are creating our own alternate world that will work for us in the virtual and possibly real world. Sooner or later, the Metaverse naturally merges into a single whole with our real world. Looking at how people use the Internet today, this will happen very soon.
Getting back to the journey, there’s a man sitting across from me on the train, watching a TV show on Netflix. Diagonally, the boy is working on a laptop. On the left, the girl is also watching a TV show. These people are already in Metaverse space. Even though their body is in the real world, their mind and soul are in a different place, in a different space. The series is a two-dimensional metaverse. It’s also non-interactive. We can’t interfere. We’re watching it on a flat screen. A real metaverse using VR technology will allow us to experience a virtual world completely. In three dimensions. With a sense of physical presence. With high transmission intensity and full immersion.
Metaverse and Digital Twin + WEB 3.0
Our virtual offices in the world of the Metaverse can be equipped with avatars that will act as our digital twins, distracting us from inefficient, repetitive and little creative activities. Just as the Internet revolution has created the potential to generate huge amounts of money, the world of the Metaverse will give people the opportunity to make money as we do not know today. I look forward to the moment when the boundary between the virtual and real world will cease to exist. And not because I care about the real world. I wonder what direction virtual reality will take humanity.
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about Web 3.0, even balancing this concept with the name ‘Metaverse’. However, the Metaverse is more than just the web. It’s definitely bigger than the internet. The Web is just one aspect of the Metaverse, without which this environment cannot exist. But virtual reality will greatly simplify our work, communication and activities, giving us more time to enjoy the real world. Without wasting time traveling to meet face to face. At the moment, it’s still with a realistic avatar, and in the short term, it’s with a realistic character.
